In the ongoing journey of soul-searching and often struggling to define myself in a nice, neat package, I’ve ended up having the same words pop up repeatedly in several different places – this often happens, and I’ve learned to acknowledge the message.
There must have been millions of songs written about Love, thousands of motivational/inspiring quotes, and definitely more than a few clichés, and I could have very easily launched into this post with a few of them.
But that just felt a little bit cheesy, and would have made fun of something that I think is more important than that.
I haven’t done a crafty post in a while, so I thought it was about time I rectified that situation!
Last September at the Handmade Fair I met Moira Fuller who runs Craftiosity - a craft kit subscription service - and loved some of the different projects she had on display that had been made using the different monthly kits. Although I’m not really in a position to commit to a new box every month - there just aren’t enough hours free for all the different crafts I want to try! - the Craftiosity Christmas shop provided the perfect opportunity to purchase a single kit to try.
I eventually got round to opening the box at the end of January (I mentioned the not enough time thing. right?) and was absolutely delighted with the contents and what I’ve manged to make from them!
Hello! How’re things going? Hit the Christmas panic yet? Yeah, me too.
Let’s not think about that for now though, instead I want to tell you about a brilliant event I attended last month - Work Like a Woman Day, hosted by the Business & IP Centre at the British Library in London.
One of the things I love most about spending time on social media is the community aspect - I’ve become part of a number of groups over the years, and they definitely help me to feel connected with others doing similar work to me, or those with similar interests or outlooks. I’ve also formed friendships with a number of individuals, and even though we may never meet in real life, I still treasure them as much as people I’ve known for years.
Hello again! Goodness the weeks just keep whizzing past don’t they, I can hardly believe we’re at the end of November already!
Anyway, that aside, here’s another closer look at one of my relatively recent personal craft projects. I say relatively recent, but I think I actually finished this one back in September!
