Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the festive season and have lots to look forward to over the next week or so until the end of the year.
I just wanted to round up 2016 with a quick post, firstly to say thank you all for taking the time to read my words and look at my photos over the past few months, and especially to those of you who have left me comments or sent me messages, I really do appreciate your support.
Secondly, I suppose this time of year is good for reflecting on all that's happened - and my goodness 2016 feels like it's been a busy one! In some ways it feels like the year has absolutely flown by and last Christmas was merely weeks ago. But no, apparently we've passed a whole 12 months, and if all the pictures I've taken and entries in my diary are anything to go by, I've certainly managed to pack plenty in! And that's a really good thing, in recent years I've felt like there's been a lot of wasted time, and opportunities that I've missed out on, but in 2016 I was really conscious of grabbing those experiences in both hands and making the most of them. I've taken part in courses and workshops, been to lots of new places and well as a few old favourites, I've continued with things I love, and started new habits in self-care, I've developed new skills and tried different things, and I've been more open about sharing my true self in my online spaces as well as in the real world.
Now is also the time when I'm starting to look forward to 2017, thinking about all the things I'd like to do, and making plans for how I'm going to get to where I want to be. One of the tools I'm going to be using next year is a Passion Planner which I bought recently, and I'm really excited to try out this system for organising my time, with space to prioritise goals and intentions in both my personal and business life. I also went on a bit of a stationery shopping binge the other day so I have plenty of pretty coloured pens, stickers, washi tape and other bits and bobs to keep my pages bright and cheerful and inspiring.
The other thing I'm going to do over the next week or so is work through Susannah Conway's Find Your Word mini-course and Unravel Your Year workbook. I did both of these last year and found them really useful for reflecting, dreaming, and coming back to regularly throughout the year. I'll share some of my musings and my intentions for 2017 over on my Instagram page, but if you'd like to have a go at choosing a guiding word for the year, or filling out the workbook, both are available for free from Susannah's website.
I'm just about ready for Christmas - the tree and decorations have been up for weeks, I've been baking all sorts of yummy treats, all my shopping is done and the presents wrapped, there are just a few deliveries and visits to make to family who live nearby. My parents and I will be spending Christmas Day with my sister and brother-in-law and it will be the first time we haven't been at home so I'm sure it will be different but no less special.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas whatever you're doing and whoever you're spending it with, and I wish you so much joy for the season, as well as health, wealth and happiness as we move into 2017. I already have a few plans that I'm excited to share with you soon, so until the new year - thank you again and Merry Christmas!
