Do you ever end up bookmarking links, making notes of things to read, storing up shows to watch on TV, and compiling a podcast list it’ll take you weeks to get through? Yeah, me too.
So I’ve decided to start sharing the things I find here - the people that are inspiring me, articles, audios or videos giving me things to think about, or stuff that I just plain love and think you will too.
In no particular order…
The BBC has really been knocking it out of the park lately with some incredibly thought-provoking and beautiful documentaries (we pay the license fee so might as well make the most of it!). Three I’ve loved are Travelling Blind, Pilgrimage: The Road to Rome, and Earth from Space.
My lovely friend Alauna Whelan is running her annual community project - May Magick - for the third time and I’m honoured to be contributing my thoughts for one of the daily prompts. You can find out more about the project and how to join in over here.
One of my favourite podcasts at the moment is The Little Chapters with Jessica Williams and Kayte Ferris, and I really enjoyed this episode and their discussion about Hobbies.
Kayte Ferris also writes her own blog over at Simple & Season and recently shared how she’s begun using tarot to assist in guiding her business decisions.
I nearly cheered out loud reading this post from Lucy Peltier about how she’s been working on finding her way, growing confidence in her individuality, and exploring her creativity.
I absolutely adored reading Conscious Creativity by Philippa Stanton – I’ve followed her on Instagram from the beginning and I love how she’s been able to distill all her creative inspiration and wisdom into this guidebook for developing a creative practice, confidence and curiosity. There are some fantastic activities recommended to try, and of course plenty of Philippa’s stunning photography.
I was introduced to the work of Michael Neill recently and his two TED Talks give a great starting point for an mind opening and altering way of thinking about how we create our reality, I really recommend giving them a go; first this one, and then this.
On a similar theme, I just got hold of this book by Mara Gleason and I’m looking forward to diving deeper into understanding what she calls the ‘superpower of the mind’.
Another person I love from connecting with them on Instagram is Sophie Carefull, and she recently re-shared this blog post she wrote last year about mindset and mental health, and some tools that she uses herself to help manage her anxiety.
I’ve got some beautiful jersey fabric that’s been in my stash for a while and I’ve been looking for the perfect pattern to make something from it - I think I just found it in the Nina Lee Mayfair Dress.
I’m so proud of my gorgeous friend Lauren Barber for sharing this blog post about reconnecting to her power, and the first in a new season of podcast episodes about what she’s learned from experiencing rock bottom - deeply personal and brave, and with wisdom we can all learn from I think.
I’ve seen a few people sharing photos of this wonderfully colourful wall planner from Betsy Benn and I’m so tempted to get one - you can order it to start each quarter throughout the year, so no wasted pages!
I’ve been thinking a lot about community lately, and about how I engage with people online, particularly in relation to the amount of energy it takes, so this piece by Lisa Fabrega was really a wake up call to shake up what I expect and how I do things.
Hopefully somewhere in that little lot there’s something you find interesting and inspiring - and if you come across anything you think I’d like to read/listen to/watch then please send it my way, either in a comment below or by dropping me an email. I share lots more inspirations on Instagram and in my monthly newsletter.
