#everydaycreativemoments

I believe that everyone is creative, and that creativity is a way of expressing your unique combination of experiences, inspirations and individual spark. It's like a muscle - the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets, and hopefully means you are able to create better things more often. But sometimes, like any muscle, it gets a bit tired and worn out.

What if you could gently massage and stretch your creative muscles back to full strength?

That's what I'm going to help you do in this challenge.

I'm a huge champion of #everydaycreativemoments and believe that you can express yourself creatively in all areas of your life, from the clothes you wear and the food you cook, to the way you style your home and what you do in your work. All of these and more offer opportunities to add your individual stamp to your life and your surroundings, bringing together all of your experiences and the things that have inspired you.

And if you're anything like me, you'll also have a whole raft of creative hobbies that you're passionate about, or activities you love to do just for fun - plus probably a long list of more things you want to try!

Sometimes though, all these fun, creative things can become overwhelming as you try to fit as many of them as you can into every spare hour. Then the frustration can set in and you find yourself not doing any of them, or falling out of love with projects you've already started.

Perhaps there's other stuff going on in your life that's using all your energy and motivation - and that's OK, we all have busy lives and other responsibilities. I truly believe though, that if you can make just a little bit of time and space for some creative play, it will start to worm its way into the gaps and eventually fill you up with creative joy again. And, I'm certain it will spill over into other areas that have maybe begun to feel routine.

So what's this challenge all about?

Well, I want to show you a few simple ways that you can invite fresh motivation, inspiration, and passion into your favourite creative activities.

We're going to pick just one hobby or creative activity - it could be something you do for work - to focus on (I know, I know, it's hard to choose, but go with me on this), and over the course of two weeks you'll get a series of emails from me with prompts and suggestions to try out.

I think by sticking to just one activity it will give us the chance to take small steps without feeling overwhelmed, and you can always try out the challenge on another thing another time.

Who is the challenge for?

Anyone! Literally anyone who has something they love to do as a creative hobby. It could be something you've done for years but have run out of steam with, or something you've only picked up recently but are struggling to stay in love with. It doesn't even really have to be a hobby - you could choose something creative in another area of your life, home, or work, and the prompts will work for that too.

I tried to come up with a list of all the things I thought you could apply this challenge to, and honestly, the list just kept growing and growing! Here are just a selection of the things I came up with:

Knitting - Crochet - Weaving - Macrame - Quilting - Dressmaking - Embroidery - Cross-stitch - Painting - Illustration - Graphic Design - Pottery - Beading - Jewellery making - Gardening - Baking - Cooking - Floristry - Yoga - Writing - Poetry - Interior Design - Music - Woodworking - Journaling - Papercrafting - Bookbinding - Photography

If any of these sound like things you love to do, or you can think of any more, then this challenge is for you!

How's it going to work?

You'll get a series of nine emails from me with a selection of things to try out to help you find some creative focus with your chosen activity. There's nothing too huge or scary, most of the suggestions can be done in just a few minutes a day, although some of them you might want to spend longer on. You won't need to spend any extra money either, unless you really want to!

I'll invite you to share what you get up to on social media - I'll be mostly over on Instagram where you can use the hashtag #creativefocuschallenge to let everyone know how you're getting on. If you want to do the challenge privately that's absolutely fine too, I'll be inviting you to write down in a journal, or just think about your reflections and feelings as you try each prompt.

At the end of the two weeks you'll get an pdf ebook of all the information and suggestions from the challenge so that you can try them out whenever you want to reignite your passion for a different creative activity.
